New Zealand Post II

So my Internet situation is kind of rough here right now. The wireless i was told would be at the school is not working, so I have to find Internet service on the when I am out and about and its not cheap. We have

finished our first week of games and the kids have learned a lot, I have learned a lot and also made several strong connections. I plan I returning here again in the near future. The weather has been pretty wet and rainy during our first week but today was beautiful. We had sunny sky's and took a trip to a few different areas. We went to a ropes course and played around for a while. We then went to one of the Maurie bays that is a big surf spot and spent a little time. Words cant explain the beauty. I have posted a few pictures above just to give you a small glimpse of everything. The first picture is of one of the pools during the opening ceremonies. There is over 100 teams here from all over the world. The second picture is of me driving on the left side of the road, yup... the left. I have also mastered stick shift as well. The third picture is of a cup of coffee I ordered, more like a bowl of coffee. It was the best I have ever had, due to this I have drunken more coffee in the last week than I have in the last few months. I have also eaten more food than ever. I think I have gained at least 10lbs since I have been here. The fourth picture is of a small bay near the national water polo training pool we played a few games at. This was during a break and we needed to kill some time. The last picture is of one of the bays we drove to today. I was awesome. That is a shot from a lookout point on one of the bluffs. I have so many more pictures of all we have been able to see as well as a few short videos. Look up "the Haka" on you tube or the All Blacks, New Zealand national rugby team and find there Haka dance. I have a video if the students performing that at the opening ceremonies. There is to much more to say and to little time. I also have to many pictures to post. I hope all is well and I will update thing when I am able to log on again. See ya soon.

New Zealand Update

I just wanted to update you on my trip. We arrived a few days ago and went straight to the school, Sacred Heart College. When we arrived they had a welcoming ceremony all planned out. We then went right into practice games for the rest of the day. When I finally went to sleep I realized I had been running on three hours of sleep for the last 48 hours, that was the deepest sleep I have had in a long time. We then started our tournament and played one game today and have two games tomorrow.
The food here is amazing and the coffee is some of the best I have had. The people are all very nice and approachable, it makes you feel right at home and comfortable. I have not had a chance to upload any photos yet but I will do so as soon as I can. Check back in a few days and I will have more updates and hopefully pictures. See ya soon.

New Zealand

This is going to be the place I try to update while I am on my trip to New Zealand for the Pan Pacific games in Auckland. I am currently down in Placentia, California where we are training for four days. We have 13 boy and girls from Ukiah in Northern California and we are training with 9 girls from El Dorado High School, and 5 boys from St John Bosco High School in southern California. We leave Tuesday night on our 17 hour flight........ yeah!

It is winter over there so it will be a little cold but the beauty is still breathtaking. The trip will be for 16 days and we will be playing water polo the entire time. There will be a day or two we get free to tour the North end of the island. I will try to visit the Shire and meet some hobbits, HAHA. We plan on staying at Sacred Heart High School which is a private high school their in Auckland. So keep checking every few days and hopefully I will have a few pictures up with updates on our trip.

Librbary Thoughts

I was reading my way through librarything and at first I didn't thing to much on it. Once I I signed up and started adding the recent books I have read I began to feel a little differently about it. I stated to play wit the tags and look up other books similar to those I have read. A lot of them look really good. I will most likely began to search more books to read. I am more into the athletics type books. I really enjoy reading books by other coaches and seeing things from their prospective. There have been many time were I have been in a book store searching for specific books or books on a specific topic and couldn't find anything. Librarything make that search so much more simple. You can also find places to buy your book through this site. So as I said earlier, I was a was not to fond of it in the beginning but as I got used to the site and signed up for it I began to get a diff rent feel. I will probably continue to utilize this site more when the class is over. Here is a link to my catalog. Hope you enjoy.

My Image Generator

So I had a chance to play with the image generator and I had a little to much fun. I am actually going to send some of the pictures to my buddies. I think it is great to have access to stuff like that if you don't have something like photo shop on your computer. There is a lot out there you can play with. I plan on spending some more time paying with a lot of the other different sites. I need to load more of my pictures to my computer now. I have included one picture of me and my buddies last summer posted on two different magazine covers, Sweet! The top picture I was able to create my own title. The second picture was putting your picture on a popular magazine that already exists. I have also included the links for both, have fun.

Podcasting

So I recently have been introduced to the world of podcasting. I am still new to the idea of this and how to make it more convenient. As i tried to link my choices to my blog lines account I found it to be a little more difficult than I would like. My brother in law got me using itunes and I like using that much more. I have several podcast I listen to regularly on my itunes player. My next step is to invest in a ipod so can load my podcasts onto that for long trips. Podcasting is great for those who do not have cable television or time to sit and watch all their favorite shows. Or you might miss your favorite radio broadcast one week and want to catch up. Podcasting is limitless. Professors use it to broadcast lectures for the week and make them available to all there students. So for me podcasting is great and look forward to learning more about it, finding more feeds I enjoy and figuring out how to load them up a little more resourcefully.

So You Think You Can Dance Friend

So I posted this video only because i just found out this young girl Kherington is the daughter of a good friend of mine down south. In fact he and I are traveling to New Zealand this summer for a water polo tournament. She made it through to Vegas.... Sweet. He is really proud of her, she's a good girl. Watch for her on some upcoming episodes. We will see how she does. Its makes the show more fun when you actually know someone and want to cheer them on. It adds emotion to the show. If it wasn't for You Tube I would have never seen this video.
